This triptych is painted with a soulful quality that examines the relationship between the material and the mystical.This work was influenced by my Latin culture and urban living. Studying the works of my favorite artists , “My Garden” is based on portraits of the women of my life that tell the story. These three canvases are like fragments of narratives, snapshots of memories.

My Garden Panel 1 This painting has a combination of strong forms and is dissolved for emphasis. I have always painted between realism and abstraction. The play of patterns with layers and organic forms and bright color palettes gave this work a dynamic energy.

My Garden Panel 3 My diverse practices included in this are painting, drawings and designs. The work walks you through vivid, contrasting hues of cobalt reds that have an organic feel. My Entry in State of the Art 2024 Studio Montclair

I categorized this acrylic painting style as lyrical and dreamlike. The text “Nosotros y Los Otros” refers to the power of the few who hang over the many. Those who suffer under the power of others regret it, but we don't act. These two canvases allowed me to express a visually poetic experience.

This painting was based on a book by Rafael Olivares. The text “Nosotros y Los Otros” Translation “Us and the Others” My paintingI used visual fragments of narratives and snapshots of emotions of how the others impose power on us by the force that destroys us, but the process dehumanizes them and they are no longer them. We feel their dominance and that's why they see us as hostile.

I painted this during Covid. This work was influenced by Latin culture and urban living. The Tower is based on the view outside my window in my current home in Bloomfield. As a little girl in Santiago Chile I also had a tower view and every time I saw the view it reminded me of the past. The area of my painting in red is a reminder of the darker times that we may face in life. The Tower painting is a symbol that travels through to a destination. Connecting this tower to my community is the vision that we are all together in our passions and struggles.

This painting was inspired by how as a woman we are ignored by internal physical pain for years. How in certain establishments our women's physical pain is disregarded. I created patterns and chaos of a background and a front in which the Woman with the Red Dress is lost and found. In this pallet I use vivid, contrasting hues of cobalt reds that have an organic feel.

This portrait was following “The Woman with the Red Dress” finally after many years the physical pain was gone. The mental emotion remains. In this painting I used a limited palette. My colors are often exaggerated to emphasize these emotions. I thrust spatial relationships in the patterns so that the viewer can journey within the picture. This painting has a combination of strong forms and is dissolved for emphasis. I have always painted between realism and abstraction.

“Aqui” Translation of Here. I painted this with the inspiration of so many youngsters being uprooted to new situations. The desperation of having to redo the past. The portraits stuck together were my focus. In this work I am interested in conveying moods and expressing emotions. My colors are exaggerated to emphasize these emotions and I push spatial relationships so that the viewer can journey within the picture. My paintings have a combination of strong forms and the dissolved for emphasis.

My colors and abstract figures on canvas explore the metaphysical world. I consider my style to be categorized as lyrical and dreamlike. This painting of the “Tree” painted with a soulful quality that examines the relationship between the material and the mystical, and the human and the divine.
